CNC machining

A good piece of design requires support of precision tooling die to bring the design to reality. At Zhendong, we have a dedicated team of experienced tooling designers and mould makers that can handle tooling from 30 Ton to 300 Ton or more. Prior to the design stage, it is instrumental to understand the tooling requirements from our customers. Prior to tooling die fabrication, our emphasis is to conduct Design For Manufacturing (DFM) study and mould flow simulation to ensure our tooling is error-free during mass-production.

We have a full range of precision machinery, as such most of the tooling die manufacturing process are done in-house to ensure consistency in quality control and schedule control.

Metal punching tooling design & fabrication

In general speaking, the sheet metal part can be made by one stamping production such as punching, bending, cutting, forming process. More often that part is made by a series of stamping process. Stamping mold could approximately separate into single stage mold, multi-single stage mold, and progressive mold.

Single stage

Based on the features of product, the stage could apply the action such as Bending, Embossing, Blanking, Coining, Drawing or deep drawing, Stretching, Necking, Curling and Hemming in one punch process.

Based on the quality stability, the purpose of the stage is to combine more than one action in one punch process.

Progressive stamping is an integrated method that can include punching, coining, bending and several other ways of metal process, combined with an automatic feeding system.

The feeding system pushes a strip of metal through all of the stations of a progressive stamping mold. Each of the station performs one or more operations until a finished part is made.

The advantage of progressive mold is to increase the efficiency and stability, and the best thing is to lower down the cost. However, the cost for a progressive mold is higher than single stage mold depending on how complicated the item is.

The quality of pressure die castings is affected by numerous technological factors, such as die casting plunger velocity inside a filling chamber, increased pressure, liquid alloy temperature, temperature inside a filling chamber, temperature of a pressure casting die. Velocity is a determining factor of a die cavity filling regime affecting both internal and surface quality of a die casting.
